Ruaha Riverside Lodge (6-8 June)

I spent two lovely days at Ruaha Riverside Lodge enjoying the luxury of their set up. As the days were spent out on game drives (photos to come) there was actually insufficient time to enjoy the lodge and surrounds. The photos will speak for themselves of all the nice touches: looking along the Ruaha River towards a set of bandas; my room from the outside; the bedroom; shower area; wide angle of the decking with a small seating area set down below the deck to enjoy the view over the river; morning sunrise over the deck; dining area on the outside; dining area on the inside; and hippos below the dining area after sundown. The lodge area is situated in the Ruaha National Park and is not fenced off from the park so there is the potential for hippos to wander between the rooms and elephants and lions to also stroll through. So the routine is for you to be escorted to and from your room by members of the local Masaai … just in case there should be a an extra guest or two visiting the lodge.
