After 4 intensive weeks of work and a week catching & recuperating from COVID, the blog has been sorely neglected. Gonarezhou feels like the place to rectify that. Opening the camper door this morning, I was struck by the density of foot prints in the expanse of sand that flanks the Runde River. In the foreground, a clump of elephant droppings with large but faint tracks heading in a gentle curve towards the sliver of river in the distance. There were myriad other imprints in the sand, but none were made by human: foot falls or tyre tracks. This absence would be impossible in Australia, and makes the expanse of sand all the more appealing.

What a beautifully described scene! Karen! The density of animal footprints and the absence of human traces really highlight the pristine beauty of Gonarezhou. It must have been an incredible experience to witness such untouched nature, especially after the challenging weeks youβve had. The gentle curve of the elephant tracks towards the river adds a serene touch to the expanse of sand. Thank you for sharing this moment. And enjoy the rest of your adventure keep safe πβ€οΈππ»

Thanks. If it had been Australia there’d be vehicle tracks every where. The difference was marked. xkx
