New chapter

It’s been a while since my last post, but today marks the beginning of a new chapter … so worth some comment. The camper is packed to the roof, which for the last 5 years has meant travelling or moving to a new house sit. This morning my clothes slug – my purple, floppy and slightly slippery wardrobe – drooped forlorn over its current resting spot. Whilst a rolled swag might represent a gypsy lifestyle for some, my purple slug has been my equivalent. This morning it was rolled for the last time and this was a poignant moment. The housesit chapter has come to a close, timely given renewal is next week, and early afternoon I pick up the keys to my new home. This scary and exciting moment doesn’t seem real but by nightfall the slug will have been unrolled and my clothes will be hanging or folded in a permanent location. There are some regrets about letting go the freedom and flexibility of the past 5 years but it’s time for my soul to have a base.

  1. This hit me right in the heart. You have such a way with words, I’m so incredibly excited for you and how amazing that we are right behind you.  I hope you and your new home grow together into something more beautiful than the sum of the parts.  We will be in touch soon. R & D

  2. Hope the settling in goes well. Big change but I am guessing the right time and move for you. Raising a glass 🍷 to the new chapter love to you and the new abode. Xxxxx ps. Cannot wait to visit and see you in the new setting won’t be that long given how quick the months race by. X

    1. Well that is a big move!! Where is your new palatial establishment? I guess by now you have settled into your new abode and getting everything organised to your desires. You mentioned in your reply to our Xmas letter that you were intending to do a PhD: How is that progressing. Hope we can catch up soon on one of our many trips to Adelaide.
