Shining like metallic jewels in the later afternoon sun, the tiny painted reed frogs were initially invisible to the untrained Okavango eye. By nosing our kayaks into the reeds we could get a close look at these inch long gems. But take hold of the reed to steady it for a close up photo and the frogs will drop instantly into the water to hide among the leaves. This is frog # 2!
