Gradually, autumn has deepened as I have walked across northern Spain: leaves are finally changing colour and falling across the path; nights are cold and crisp and daylight hours have reduced considerably. The locals are collecting chestnuts from the huge chestnut trees that abound along the Camino and, in places, the fallen shells and nuts carpet the track completely. My walk is nearly over and the last fews days have been very pleasant: the daytime temperatures have been mild, the sun has warmed my back while I stop for a rest and the walking has been easy and comfortable. During the past few days the evening chat has changed. People are asking each other how they expect to feel when they arrive in Santiago and what their plans are when the walk ends. These days are the twilight of my Camino: a time to start a reflection on my Camino experiences and to make the transition to a less surreal non-Camino existence.

Nearly there then, looking forward to hearing your reflections and seeing more of your photos when we catch up.. you will notice the autumn changes when you arrive here also, I also have a few fungi photos to share… take care raise a glass at the finishing line…. love Leeex
Yep. Arrive later today. Unless plans change, I won’t be back in time to join you in cardiff. Was always a bit squeezy. There’s been a few glasses along the way and no doubt a few more tonight. xkx

It was a nice thought and if there is an opportunity to fit in an alternative ‘thought’ that would be nice too. xkx
