This photo is me being a vertical scale next to a Jacobean way marker: an original marker from early Camino times. I haven’t seen any others on the trail, but I’m unsure whether they no longer exist or whether the trail has shifted over the centuries. It is interesting to ponder how obvious they were in the landscape in earlier times or maybe their role was marking distance? Something to be looked up. The photo is a little dark as I usually try to start walking at 7.30, which is just before sunrise. At this point I had walked ~172 kms in eight days of walking. Not a bad effort, I reckon.

  1. you’re doing well, chomping away at the miles. Always good to get an early start in the morning. Rather a nice marker post and a very nice little KP to bring things into scale! leex
