Rhyl railway station

Nothing special about this photo: it’s more about the memories. I’m waiting to catch the Crewe train enroute to Manchester then Burnley. Makes me feel a little soppy as I remember all the goodbyes from this station when we headed off to school. Always a jumble of jelly beans in my stomach: churning until the train arrived. Waving, with arms aching, long past when the train had gone round the bend. Then settle into the seat and look forward.

  1. Think we were usually on the same train hun! Not the best experience but made much better knowing you were there as well. After Bushey it was car journeys to school and so the M6 junction at Preston has the same effect as Rhyl station on me. Often though about if we would send Alice away to school and decided no we wouldn’t. I guess times were different then.
