Tree Top Walk

This is not my favourite type of walk as I always get a bit queasy with heights. But in tall forests you spend most of your  time craning your neck to look up; the positive of the Tree Top Walk is that you have the chance to look down. However, at a height of about sixty metres I find a bouncing and swaying walkway somewhat disconcerting. Funnily, the guy in Walpole Visitor Centre who sold me the ticket for the walk ($19) and also for a Lions Christmas cake at the same time ($12) thought I would get better value from the cake! I think he’s right as long as I can make the cake last more than half an hour. That said, it was a special experience to look straight into the top of a towering tingle tree and the alternative of climbing a tree will never make it onto the bucket list.
