A little more of Tsodilo Hills

The sandstone rocks and tree roots within the Tsodilo Hills created added interest on our walk around the rock art. Colours seeped from crevices and mingled to leave the rock face streaked with burnt orange, purple, light grey and shades in between. Lichens added a crusty coating of lime green or charcoal: invisible organisms enlivening an already colourful palette. And in between, the vine roots … draping, embracing, gripping and insinuating themselves over, around and between the rocky surface. In places, an occasional slippage of the rocky surface revealed a fresh, chalky white canvas ready for the slow brush stroke of time.
