Coimbra

An early capital of Portugal and now UNESCO Heritage listed, Coimbra has oodles of interesting sites. The photos are aspects that caught my eye: colourful and glossy tiles on the roof of the university, previously the royal palace; the interior brick ceiling of the Academic Prison, which is the oldest in Portugal and accessed by horrifying crimes such as damaging books and arguing with teachers (unfortunately not something that is available at my university); entry columns outside the San Tiago church, which is on the local Camino to Santiago de Compostela and bringing back many pleasant memories of my 2016 Camino; and the muted, sandy colours of the interior of San Tiago, which was essentially unadorned bar several subtle Knights Templar crosses.
