Day 4 added another 25 kms to my Camino and took me from Pamplona to Puentes de la Reine. Pamplona was still partying when I left at 8 am and the streets were awash with rubbish, glass and spilt drinks. Once out of Pamplona the views opened out to farmland with fields of sunflowers being a common crop. The sunflowers, heads bowed to where they last followed the sun, made an attractive foreground to the valley and mountains beyond. Then over another pass, down a hellish steep pebbled slope (that caused havoc with my toes) and into the next valley. Puente de la Reine had a few bulls running but I did not go and watch. I had learnt my lesson from Pamplona that my feet are not yet up for extra sightseeing after the days walk! A meal, a couple of ciders, some delightful banter with a young Latvian and a German and then to bed.

Loving your posts. Are there many other walkers?
Did you take the Latvian to bed with you, or the German? 😀
Love,
Diane Dee Macdonald
There are lots of other walkers. My hostel for tonight is one of many. It sleeps 100 and it is full. I slept with Larry. We just met as we got into bed so i introduced myself. He was a lovely quiet sleeper. The latvian lass and german lad were also in the room as well as a couple of brits plus 6 others. This was a small dorm.
Good to hear you are getting the miles (kms) under your feet. Mike says you should take the bold step and write the blog from their perspective….. Janet suggests you could try tightening your laces a little more as they help to keep your feet in place going down hill. As you can guess I am headng south tonight and staying at a rather good B&B we both know well! loving the blog, keep it coming, love Leex
I definately prefer kms. Miles are depressing. A blog about my feet would be ditto. Could be humourous once. People say they enjoy – why put them off! My downhill problems were because i some inner soles to help my heels but my shoes were then tighter. So i now have purple big toe nails. Took the inner siles out and now have heel blisters. You get my drift about a foot blog not being appealing?
