Quagi Beach

Rick fishes from the rocks and I explore the pools, rocky outcrops and the catch of the day. The rocks along this coastline (~ 80kms east of Esperence) have a similar colouring and the bright orange lichens that can be found on Kangaroo Island. However, the rocky shoreline around Quagi Beach is also interspersed with wide bands or narrow seams of igneous rock, which create interesting visuals. The rock pools teem with colourful creatures and algae and two water snails vie to create a non-retraceable pathway to who knows where. The catch of the day, which was returned to the sea: a small wrasse with the most beautiful and intense colours.
