Opposite Parry Beach

On the opposite side of the bay to Parry Beach there’s a far better promoted location called William Bay National Park: very picturesque. I had seen it dubbed as a top kayaking spot so, while I was staying at Parry Beach, I attempted to paddle across William Bay to Greens Pool. At the Parry Beach end the water was unbelievably calm but the more than three metre swell closer to Greens Pool was quite nerve wracking for this Parry: now I can see Parry Beach, now I can’t, now I can, now I can’t. I wasn’t sure that I would be able to land at Greens Pool so I turned back with less than ten per cent of the distance to go. A wise move, I think, as the wind had picked up when I arrived back at Parry Beach and visiting Greens Pool a couple of days later I could see that navigating the rocks and landing safely, even on a calm day, would be tricky. So, there you go. That’s the opposite side to Parry Beach.
