Some of you may recall that I have smarmily and glibly expressed the opinion “If I can’t have a good time when I’m travelling, then I should be shot”. Well. With a body filled to the brim with midge bites, I was perilously close to requesting the afore-mentioned ‘remedy’. So what better balm for a battered body than an inland rest area – sure, it’s austere and unforgiving in the Pilbara midday heat – but there were no midges. And for that, I was supremely grateful. Add in a lovely sunset and sunrise, and you have more than you need for an overnight stop. On the subject of rest stops – free camping places across Australia – a big thank you to those that provide and service these areas and long may they continue to exist. Not just for those that need reprieve from midge bites!

Cure for mide bites – proven and tested – wine on the bites – it neutralizes them – true blue – friend in nthn NSW recently got eaten and this worked.
Good luck
3 more days of work for me…………xx
Blow me down. I’ve been travelling with cider but I better get some wine in the drinks cabinet. Bit of a tussle as to whether you’d want to waste it on the bites but guess you wouldn’t need much.
Best news though is 3 more days of work for you. How exciting, marvellous, liberating, life changing etc etc. Looking forward to hearing what you get up to. xkx
