Not for Paraburdoo the excessively scaled township icon ie huge prawns, bananas, pineapples, crocodiles etc. Rather, Paraburdoo’s icon is normal sized, for what it is, but naturally larger than most other township icons. You might be able to tell that I’m scratching for Paraburdoo content, as I just did a quick loop of the town and drove out. Not sure what the locals think of their town: it had a ‘hunkered down in the heat and dust of the Pilbara’ look about it, which is reflected in the sad and sorry plumage of the local corellas. I was just really pleased to be able to visit a place with such a fabulous name as Paraburdoo and to then write this as frequently as possible in a parry-graph. A bit like Meekatharra – this is a place name just begging to be visited.
