Throughout the Kimberley and Pilbara we share the roadside rest areas with the local cattle. Well, it’s really the other way round, isn’t it? These gentle and curious Brahman cattle – some a cross with other breeds – share their riverside camps with us. Not that they have much choice when campervans, 4WDs or caravans snaffle the best shade. I just love the sags, the bags, the folds and their amazingly mobile ears. And they even turned a blind eye to my small vegie patch.
what small vegie patch? The micro greens you’re growing in the van? How long are you staying in these roadside stops?
you’re so funny. lol. yes, I meant the micro greens but I also have some lettuce, basil, mint and oregano – well, not sure about the oregano. picked up a few cuttings from the permie place that I went to near derby. mint’s going well but oregano didn’t like the transplant shock.
