11,032 kms from Gibbergunyah to Broome

My rough calculation for the whole trip was 15,000km. Obviously, I’m going to overun that guesstimate. I have travelled through 3 states; traversed temperate, desert and tropical environments; ‘endured’ (!) 11 weeks without rain; not seen any seriously cloudy weather since Coober Pedy; posted 62 parry-graphs and I am 11 weeks into what could be a 26 week trip. So here I am leaving Broome and I feel like I’m ‘turning the corner’. Make of that what you will – part literal, as I’ll now be heading south as opposed to north or west, and part feeling like I’m on the return journey, even though I’m not half way through time-wise. I’m sure you’d love some sage-like reflections on personal ‘turning the corners’ but we might leave those until the end of the trip, if at all. The photo didn’t work as well as I’d hoped: there’s a downward arrow on the left, a track across the ‘map’ and the words “roughly”, referring to the accuracy of my rendition of Australia and my route.
