Tennant Creek social museum

What a joy. A museum that tells you that you can take photos! I lost track of time in the social museum – the combination of old photographs and oral history snippets was just a delight. You get the feeling that to live there in the early gold mining days that it was compulsory for you to be a ‘character’ – no doubt it was part of the mining licence requirement. Bill Garnett sounds like the sort of bloke who would make good fodder for a movie – travelling with your own brass band makes my mini speaker option decidely mean-spirited by comparison.
